Do you ever look around yourself, spot a still object, and your imagination can’t help but bring this object to live? Inspired by this phenomenon, I decided to bring to live street art painted over electricity boxes spread across the neighbourhood of Headingley in Leeds. These electricity boxes are created by the local artists with each box telling a unique story.
By animating elements on the boxes, I bring an alternative perspective to a viewer – child-like perspective where new worlds emerge and stories evolve around every corner. It can be treated as a form of imagination exercise – what if we could learn to see the world around us like this? What would change then? What would it mean to be still in the world where everything can move?
